Cancer & GlyconutrientsShould You Include Glyconutrients As Part Of Your Alternative Cancer Treatment Regime?People seeking alternatives to conventional chemotherapy and radiation treatments will do well to consider adding glyconutrients to their holistic cancer treatment regime. Cancer, regardless of the type, is the result of two occurrences:
Everyone has thousands of pre-cancerous cells occurring all the time. In most people, their immune systems are healthy enough to detect and destroy these before they grow into For example, abnormal mannose and N-acetylglucosamine sugars have been found in colon and breast cancer cells. In addition, a lack of these glyconutrients have been linked to the spread of cancer cells throughout the body. What we now know is that we are all deficient in dietary glyconutrients today, thus opening us up to cancer, and other diseases. Even the good ol' carrot, with its super-anti-oxidant properties, has a part to play, according to this research.
There are some top oncologists who are using glyconutrients in their daily practice -- insisting that their patients get on these life-changing glyconutritional supplements. The discovery of glyconutrients and how cells communicate just occurred a few years ago, long after your doctor left medical school. Unfortunately, glyconutrients are not in the educational program by pharmaceutical companies presented to your doctor because they are natural supplements, not drugs. (Read more about natural health supplements). The American Medical Association, AMA, has sanctioned continuing medical education seminars so doctors can begin learning this vital new information. The AMA have never sanctioned seminars for any natural supplement technology before -- that's how important the medical community believes glyconutrients to be.
The main causes of cancer are well known: 1. Genetic - a body's predisposition, or potential for becoming diseased. Some people contract diseases or become unhealthy when exposed to the same things as others who manage to stay healthy. As individuals we obviously have no control over our inherited genetic makeup. We have some influence over our environment, although it is increasingly difficult in modern life to control what we are exposed to in the air and the food we eat and water we drink. But we continually make choices about many things over which we do have control. There are growing fields of study in these aspects, and how they control "genetic expression", or whether our potential for becoming diseased is actually realised. Epigenetics is about changes in genes that occur without changes to DNA (including the role of the mind in causing change), and Neutrogenomics /Nutrigenomics is about the important role that food plays. Given the inability of most of the medical profession to either understand or accept or communicate this more holistic way of seeing health issues, it is not surprising that people are more or less subjected into accepting that chemotherapy and radiation are the only ways to treat cancer. The bottom line is that if we want to remove cancer completely, we need to address the last three of the four influencing factors above. This seems to correlate with most of the anecdotal evidence of people who have experienced spontaneous remission; and there are certainly many cases - some famous - of people who were given a few months to live but "fought back" and won. The evidence is not purely anecdotal: there are in fact many hundreds of properly documented and published cases of spontaneous remission, where cancer "miraculously" disappeared to the apparent amazement of doctors who failed by using chemotherapy. People using glyconutrients as part of their alternative cancer treatment regime could fall into the category of "spontaneous remission".
