There are many subdivisions of Arthritis:
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the most common.
Osteoarthritis is the degeneration of the joints usually associated with low inflammation.
Rheumatoid is a whole body disease, the immune system is turned on and cannot turn itself off, it is an autoimmune disease with low grade fever, painful and swollen joints which can lead to deformity.

A bit about the skeleton and glyconutrients
Cartilage consists of living tissue rich in proteins, glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. This living tissue allows total regeneration of the entire skeleton every few years. The long glycosaminoglycans molecules chains consist of amino sugars (glyconutrients) such as glucosamine. This amino sugar contains nitrogen and is of vital importance for cartilage synthesis. Chondroitin, also a glyconutrient, is found in the cartilage tissue and important for the joint structure. Glucosamine and Chondroitin have gained popularity for prevention and treatment of arthritis.
Glyconutrients will improve intra and inter cellular communication. They can be preventive and inhibit inflammation and degeneration.
Aspirin and cortisone
Both these are recommended for pain but relief is often only short term and in the long term both of these may inhibit the repair process and increase collagen destruction.
